It's no surprise that we are in an election year! Our nation's colors can be seen everywhere—including weddings. When wedding creatives hear their clients would like their color palette to be red, white ,and blue it can initially cause mixed feelings as no one wants their work to be confused for a 4th of July party; but time and time again, I see weddings that are able to incorporate the patriotic color combination in sophisticated and unique ways. In honor of the election coming up, I'm sharing my favorite ways you can beautifully implement this color palette into your client's wedding!

Décor
From table settings to backdrops, the colors of Old Glory can be used in weddings without screaming "USA!" One of the best ways to do this is to incorporate a 4th accent color, like gold or silver, to break up the traditional palette. Prints are another great option to modernize the palette, incorporate a fun print into the table linen or napkins. And lastly, you can always add a just a pop red, white or blue with the stationery—such as the menu or table cards. Those will be moved aside as the meal arrives and the reception goes on, so it can give a flash of color without being overdone. Pro tip: If you're going deep red and navy, the best way to tie it all together is with a wooden table. It gives the rustic American vibe without being showy and over-the-top. On the other hand, if you're going for a lighter feel, use pastel tones with white drapery to give your reception a dreamy look.

Flowers
Flowers are one of the most natural ways to incorporate colors into a wedding palette, but when it comes to this palette, the key is to color block. Using all three colors in your arrangements will be too busy, instead choose a single color and keep it consistent with your bouquets, centerpieces and other arrangements. If you want to break it up, incorporate greenery or use one of the other colors, but sparingly.

Fashion
With the white already covered with the bride's gown, you can use the other two colors as pops of color in the accessories—the bride's shoes and the grooms socks or tie are a great place to have a little fun! You can also break the colors up between the women and men—outfitting the groomsmen in navy suits and the bridesmaids in red dresses—or choose to match the bridal party in navy and white dresses and suits with red bouquets and boutonnieres.
Whether it's through table decor, flower or fashion, wedding vendors can create work that will perfectly incorporate these patriotic colors to your client's wedding. Not only will it be overall swoon-worthy, but also it will be a great tribute to the good old U.S.A!
