The Value of a Good Website

Your website will either make or break your future business opportunities. It will likely be the first or second impression a client has of your brand, so it is crucial that it gives them the right idea about your work. Assess your site from the perspective of your ideal potential customer and make sure it is marketing to them in such a way that it inspires them to contact you.

Organization: The key to a great website that brings ROI is organization. Potential clients do not want to spend hours looking for the information they need about your company. Make sure that your website is organized and easy to navigate. Any information that you WANT your clients to know should be readily available. What your company does and your contact information should be at the top of that list. If a client can find everything they need with only a few clicks, they will be more inclined to work with you.

Design: Clients immediately notice the visual aesthetics of a site. Have a site-design that is an extension of your business. Let this be your digital business card that exemplifies the effort and style you put into your projects and the type of work you do. Make your site clean, mobile friendly, and dynamic. Less can be more so don’t clutter the site with tons of drop downs and an overwhelming header.

Press Features: Showcasing any press that your company has received will show that you are credible and have been acknowledged for your skill and how great your work is. Potential clients want to feel confident in their choice to work with you.

Previous work: Show potential clients your work. This is the fun part of your website, where you sell your business to clients. Show off! Include examples of your most impressive projects that you would want your potential clients to see. Be sure to only include images that will make you look good- look at the picture and ask yourself “will this image sell me to my ideal client?” If the answer is no, then don’t include it!

It is worth the time and money to have a website designed that you and your clients will love. Design and visual appearance can either deter or entice potential clients so it is crucial that it is constantly up-to date and organized in an efficient and inviting manner.
