Trend Alert: Destination Wedding Excursions

There are many reasons to jet off to say ‘I do,’ but more often than not, destination couples have a penchant for wanderlust and are hoping to celebrate their vows off the beaten path by turning their nuptials into an adventure. There is no better way for brides, grooms, and their guests to enjoy their experience on the other side than with excursions!

On average, that the typical destination wedding couple spends a total of seven nights in the locale while their guests take approximately four days for their getaway. Of course, one of those days is solely dedicated to the wedding itself, but the rest are prime for exploring and taking in all that the local area has to offer.

For couples planning a destination wedding, excursions have emerged as a “must have” on the destination wedding planning checklist.

These days, the opportunities to explore both the resort and region itself are seemingly endless. A group of adrenaline junkies may love the chance to scuba dive while those seeking relaxing activities will enjoy horseback riding on the beach. A crowd of history buffs and cultural explorers would relish in a guided tour of museums and sites around the destination. There are also numerous options for food tastings and winery tours for those eager for a culinary adventure.

When little ones are in attendance, plenty of kid-friendly outings are available such as a catamaran cruise or guided snorkeling lessons. Their parents will be grateful to keep them entertained, even if it is just for a few hours!

Organized couples these days are booking their excursions through a destination wedding planning service well in advance of their trip, as they look to reap the cost savings while also giving themselves and their guests even more to look forward to.

With guest experience being such a key aspect of any wedding, destination excursions are a surefire way to ensure that the couple and their guests will create memories for years to come.
